HOW TO USE
Test-fit your canvas. Hold it over the window to check full coverage and square alignment. Nothing sticks yet, so restitch or reshape if it's crooked.
Trim the excess canvas. Cut around your design, leaving 2 to 3 unstitched rows to tuck under the flaps later.
Lift the leather flaps. Slide a blunt knife under each flap to separate it from the sticky layer, just enough to make room for tucking.
Peel the paper from the window. With the flaps lifted, score and peel off all the backing paper, including any caught underneath the flaps.
Place the canvas for real. Line up the top edge of your stitching with the top edge of the window and tuck it under the flap. This sticks permanently, so take your time.
Press the center firmly. This anchors the canvas so it won't shift while you work the edges.
Tuck the remaining edges. Work bottom, then sides, then corners, smoothing out any "dog ears" (bunched leather folds) as you go.
Admire your finished piece. You've mounted your stitching into something one of a kind.
